Some examples of the cultural and company visits from previous years
(please note that these visits may vary from one year to another)
Lyon, of course! Wander around the “Vieux Lyon” (the central old part of town) and learn about its history, meet up with friends in the central squares and at outdoor cafés, shop at the various farmers’ markets, and walk along or cycle up the banks of its two rivers, the Saone and the Rhone, etc.
CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) in Geneva, Switzerland. What is the universe made of? How did it start? Spend a few hours with CERN physicists and find out what kind of experiments they are running in the world’s most powerful particle accelerators.
Taste some locally produced Alpine cheese and admire the view of the mountains. Gaec Fougere is a cheese manufacturer in Serraval, located in the beautiful French Alps.
Annecy, a picturesque town in the heart of Savoy and the Alps. Wander through the lovely old part of town in its paved streets lined with boutiques of all sorts, picnic on the grass by the Lac d’Annecy and, if it’s a particularly hot day, go swimming in its turquoise water!
Museums of Art, Film, Silk, Roman archeology – learn about the history and culture that have made Lyon one of the most attractive cities in Europe.
Pérouges, a lovely medieval walled city only 30km from Lyon.
Valrhôna City of Chocolate – an interactive visit around the art of making chocolate, including tasting activities, information on production processes, “chocolate artists” exhibits and, of course, the possibility to purchase more chocolate than you could possibly eat!
Wine producers of the Côte du Rhône – because a trip to France without tasting and learning about wine would not be complete!
